What is Restorative Justice?

Restorative Justice practices originated with first nations peoples, and it is still used by several tribes throughout the Americas. ​

Restorative Justice involves the meeting of the harmed and the harming parties. The meeting must be voluntary for it to be successful. Both parties must understand that harm was caused and must be repaired. Both parties collaborate to think of restorative actions that need to take place to help rebuild trust after the harm that has been caused.
