Before Assignment

The before assignment involved preparing for creating the restorative implementation plan through gaining background knowledge and creating a plan for the summer work. The deliverables were a schedule for the summer with goals and target dates and an annotated bibliography on restorative justice from different resources.

The learning objectives were to:

1. Understand how the Title IX office at Mines functions to provide support for students.

2. Understand the purpose of restorative justice on campuses and in the context of Title IX objectives.

This assignment’s audience is mainly me because I am using it to plan and gain background knowledge that will assist me in helping Title IX and give me something I can refer back to during the process. Other possible audiences for the annotated bibliography could be other Title IX offices on college campuses interested in bringing restorative justice to their campuses or other student or faculty/staff that are interested in trying to help bring it to their campuses because it provides resources.
